Amboseli Serena Lodge

Set among acacia-dotted plains in the heart of Amboseli National Park, Amboseli Serena Safari Lodge brings together classic safari atmosphere and modern comfort beneath the dramatic backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. The lodge is designed in the style of a traditional Maasai manyatta, with hand-painted wildlife murals, locally inspired furnishings and colourful cultural details throughout the property. 

The accommodation comprises 92 rooms and one suite, with private balconies, complimentary Wi-Fi and 24-hour room service. Families are well catered for through dedicated family rooms and interconnecting rooms, while the Ol Donyo Oibor Suite provides a more private option with a king-size bed, Jacuzzi, walk-in shower and exceptional Kilimanjaro views. 

Dining combines locally inspired Kenyan flavours with international choices. Guests can enjoy buffet breakfasts, buffet lunches and three-course dinners in the main restaurant, while bush breakfasts, bush dinners and Observation Hill sundowners add a more immersive safari dimension. Special dietary requirements including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and kosher preferences can be accommodated. 

Beyond traditional game drives, the lodge offers guided nature walks, birding, cultural talks, cycling, hill climbing, tree planting and wellness treatments at Maisha Spa. Its sustainability programme is a particularly notable feature: Serena states that more than 6.7 million trees have been planted since 1991 through its afforestation programme, and that Amboseli Serena became its second fully solar-powered lodge in 2018.
