explore THE LAND OF GREAT MIGRATIONS

Discover the Magic & Majesty of Tanzania

Tanzania is Africa at its most expansive and evocative - a country where vast savannahs, ancient volcanic landscapes, towering mountains and tropical islands come together in one extraordinary destination.

Home to the legendary Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire National Park and Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania offers some of the continent's most celebrated safari experiences. The Serengeti provides the stage for the spectacular Great Migration, while the Ngorongoro Crater brings an exceptional concentration of wildlife into a breathtaking volcanic setting. Tarangire is renowned for its elephants and magnificent baobab-studded landscapes.

Beyond the northern safari circuit, Tanzania opens into a quieter world of Ruaha, Nyerere and the southern wilderness, where expansive landscapes and more remote safari experiences offer a different perspective of the country. Further west, destinations such as Mahale and Gombe bring opportunities for chimpanzee encounters and immersive wilderness experiences.

And then there is the coast.

Across the Indian Ocean, Zanzibar, Pemba and Mafia Island offer white-sand beaches, turquoise waters, spice plantations, diving and centuries of Swahili heritage. Historic Stone Town adds another layer to the journey, blending African, Arab, Indian and European influences.

For adventure seekers, Mount Kilimanjaro rises to 5,895 metres above sea level as Africa's highest mountain, while Mount Meru and Tanzania's other highland landscapes provide further opportunities for trekking and exploration.

Whether you dream of watching wildebeest cross the Serengeti, descending into the Ngorongoro Crater, following elephants beneath ancient baobabs, climbing Kilimanjaro or ending your safari barefoot on a Zanzibar beach, Tanzania allows you to combine these experiences into one beautifully connected African journey.

Getting There

By Air: Tanzania is served by several key international gateways. Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) is the principal gateway for Northern Circuit safaris, Kilimanjaro and destinations around Arusha and Moshi. Julius Nyerere International Airport (DAR) in Dar es Salaam is an important gateway for southern Tanzania, the coast and onward connections to Zanzibar. Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (ZNZ) serves Zanzibar and is convenient for beach and island holidays.

By Road from Kenya: Travelers combining Kenya and Tanzania can cross the border at Namanga, the principal road crossing on the Nairobi–Arusha route. The corridor connects Nairobi with Arusha and is commonly used for combined Kenya–Tanzania safari itineraries. Other Kenya–Tanzania crossings include Taveta–Holili and Lunga Lunga–Horohoro.

By Regional Flight: Domestic and regional flights connect Tanzania's major cities, safari hubs, islands and smaller bush airstrips, allowing travelers to combine destinations without lengthy road transfers.

From Kenya: Esteemed Africa Safaris can arrange seamless Kenya–Tanzania itineraries by road or air, including Nairobi–Arusha connections, cross-border safari combinations and onward flights to Zanzibar.
