ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Valid passport (minimum 6 months validity), Tanzania Tourist Visa or East Africa Tourist Visa, Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate (if arriving from endemic regions), NCAA park permit issued via electronic smart card / cashless booking portal.

PARK RULES & REGULATIONS
  • Crater descent and game viewing are restricted to daylight hours between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
  • Maintain a maximum speed limit of 50 km/h on access roads and 25 km/h inside the crater floor.
  • Off-road driving is strictly prohibited to preserve the crater ecosystem.
  • Driving into or out of the crater must be done via designated ramp roads.
  • Do not alight from your vehicle except at officially designated picnic sites (e.g., Hippo Pool Picnic Site).
  • Always give wildlife the absolute right of way.
  • Feeding, teasing, or calling out to animals is strictly forbidden.
  • Plastic bags and littering are strictly banned; retain all waste inside vehicles.
  • Domestic pets are strictly forbidden inside the conservation area.
  • Drone usage is strictly prohibited without written authorization from NCAA and civil aviation authorities.

HOW TO GET THERE

  • By Air: Scheduled or charter domestic flights fly from Arusha Airport or Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) to Manyara Airstrip or Lake Ndutu Airstrip, followed by a short road transfer.

  • By Road: A 3-to-4-hour drive (approx. 180 km) from Arusha along a fully paved road up to the Loduare Main Entrance Gate.
