Mara Simba Lodge
Mara Simba Lodge is a classic riverside safari lodge overlooking the Talek River in the Maasai Mara, offering comfortable accommodation, full-board dining, a swimming pool, wildlife experiences and easy access to the reserve's famous game-viewing areas.
Safari Beside the Talek River A classic Maasai Mara riverside lodge combining comfortable accommodation, wildlife encounters and easy access to the legendary Mara wilderness.
Set along a dramatic bend of the Talek River in the Maasai Mara, Mara Simba Lodge combines traditional safari character with comfortable lodge accommodation and convenient access to the reserve's wildlife-rich plains. The property extends for almost a kilometre along the riverbank, creating a peaceful setting surrounded by riverine vegetation, savannah and abundant birdlife.
The lodge has 84 rooms, arranged in natural wood, stone and thatched bandas. Rooms feature private balconies or verandas and en-suite bathrooms, with interconnecting configurations available for families. The riverside setting is one of the property's defining features, giving guests opportunities to enjoy the sounds of the Talek River and, depending on conditions, observe hippos and crocodiles from the lodge's viewing areas.
Mara Simba provides a strong base for exploring the Maasai Mara, with game drives, nature walks, cultural visits, sundowners, bush dining and hot-air balloon safaris available as part of the wider safari experience. The lodge also features a resident naturalist programme with wildlife and ecology talks, adding an educational dimension to the stay.
Its atmosphere is more classic and comfortable than ultra-luxurious, making it particularly appealing to families, couples and safari travellers looking for an in-reserve property with strong location and value. The lodge's gardens, swimming pool, riverside setting and Maasai-inspired design provide a relaxing counterpoint to days spent exploring the Mara.
