APERÇU GÉNÉRAL
Just beyond Nairobi's modern skyline lies one of Kenya's most extraordinary wildlife experiences - Nairobi National Park, the world's only national park located within a capital city's immediate metropolitan setting.
Established in 1946, the park covers approximately 117 km² of open grasslands, riverine habitats, scattered acacia woodland and seasonal wetlands. Its unique location creates an unforgettable contrast between untamed African wilderness and the Nairobi skyline rising in the distance.
The park supports more than 100 animal species and over 400 bird species, making it an exceptional destination for both wildlife enthusiasts and birdwatchers. It is particularly important for the conservation of black rhinos, while also supporting lions, leopards, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest and cheetahs.
Its proximity to the city makes Nairobi National Park ideal for half-day and full-day game drives, short stopovers, business travellers, families and travellers beginning or ending a longer Kenya safari.
