ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Valid passport (minimum 6 months validity), Tanzania Tourist Visa or East Africa Tourist Visa, Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate (if arriving from endemic regions), TANAPA park entry permit/smartcard.

PARK RULES & REGULATIONS
  • Driving in the park is permitted strictly between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
  • Maintain a maximum speed limit of 50 km/h on primary roads and 25 km/h on secondary tracks.
  • Always give wildlife the right of way.
  • Off-track driving is strictly prohibited to protect the delicate ecosystem.
  • Maintain a minimum safe distance of 25 meters from wild animals.
  • Feeding, teasing, or disturbing animals is strictly forbidden.
  • Do not alight from your vehicle except at authorized picnic sites or lodges.
  • Littering is strictly prohibited; all waste must be retained in vehicles.
  • Domestic pets are not permitted inside the national park.
  • Drone operation is illegal without prior approval from TANAPA and civil aviation authorities.

HOW TO GET THERE

  • By Air: Scheduled or charter bush flights fly directly from Arusha Airport, Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), or Zanzibar to airstrips inside the park (Seronera, Kogatende, Grumeti, Ndutu).

  • By Road: A 7-to-8-hour drive (approx. 325 km) from Arusha, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area via Naabi Hill Gate.
