Apoka Safari Lodge

Perched on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Narus Valley, Apoka Safari Lodge places guests in the heart of one of Uganda's most remote and spectacular wilderness areas. The lodge's elevated position provides expansive views across golden savannah, rugged hills and wildlife-rich plains, while the lack of fences allows the surrounding wilderness to remain part of the guest experience. 

The lodge has 10 canvas-walled chalets - four twins and six doubles - built around the rocky kopje. Each accommodation unit has a spacious sitting area, private veranda, large hand-hewn beds, en-suite bathroom and a distinctive outdoor rock bathtub designed around the natural boulders and views. 

The main lodge sits above the landscape and incorporates lounge, dining and bar spaces, while its signature swimming pool is literally carved into the natural rock. A private dining tower provides an elevated setting for meals with panoramic views across the plains. 

Apoka's safari programme is equally distinctive. Guests can head out in specially converted open Land Cruisers with resident guides, explore the park on foot, enjoy birdwatching, experience night drives and visit nearby Karamojong communities. Kidepo is particularly valuable for wildlife enthusiasts because it supports species that are uncommon elsewhere in Uganda, including cheetahs, ostriches and large buffalo herds.
